Holy Martyr Averkios, brother of the Martyr Helen and child of the Apostle Alphaeus.
Tradition relates that Averkios and his sister Helen were children of the Apostle Alphaeus. Averkios was tied naked among bees and died of their stings for confessing Christ.
He is commemorated with his father and sister on May 26.
