Holy Apostle Carpus.
The Holy Apostle Karpos was one of the Seventy, a companion and fellow laborer of St. Paul. The Apostle mentions him in his second letter to Timothy, recalling the cloak and books he had left with Karpos at Troas. Tradition holds that he served the Church as a bishop and gave himself wholly to the preaching of the Gospel.
The Church honors him among the apostolic men through whom the faith was planted in the first generation. He is commemorated on May 26.
