Helen the Martyr

Holy Martyr Helen, daughter of the Apostle Alphaeus, stoned for her faith.

Helen, sister of the martyr Averkios and, according to tradition, daughter of the Apostle Alphaeus, was stoned to death for confessing Christ.

She is commemorated with her family on May 26.

On the New Calendar, Helen the Martyr is commemorated on May 26. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 8 of the civil calendar.
