Holy Martyr Claudia of Rome.
St. Claudia was a martyr of the early Church who suffered for Christ during the Roman persecutions. The synaxaria preserve little of her life beyond her faithful confession, numbering her among the holy women who chose death rather than deny the Lord.
In honoring her, the Church honors the great company of women martyrs whose names are known while their full stories are written in heaven. She is commemorated on April 4.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Claudia is commemorated on April 4. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 17 of the civil calendar.
