Clotilde, Queen of the Franks

Righteous Clotilde, queen of the Franks, who brought her husband Clovis to the Christian faith.

Saint Clotilde, a Burgundian princess, married Clovis, king of the Franks, and by her prayers and example led him to be baptised, an event of great consequence for the Christian history of Gaul. After his death she withdrew to Tours, where she lived in prayer and works of mercy near the tomb of Saint Martin until her repose in 545.
