Holy Virgin Martyr Paula, who suffered at Byzantium with the infants Claudius, Hypatius, Paul and Dionysius, companions of Lucillian.
Saint Paula was a Christian maiden of Byzantium who cared for the aged martyr Lucillian and the four young boys, Claudius, Hypatius, Paul and Dionysius, who were imprisoned with him under the emperor Aurelian. After the men were put to death she was arrested for her ministry to the martyrs.
Tradition relates that she was taken to Byzantium and beheaded there. Greek women named Pavlina keep their name day on her feast.
