Venerable Dionysius of Koritsa, founder of the monastery of the Holy Forerunner (Dionysiou) on Mount Athos.
Saint Dionysius was born near Kastoria in the fourteenth century and went to Mount Athos, where his brother Theodosius was a monk. Guided, tradition relates, by a light he saw on a rock above the sea, he founded there the monastery of the Holy Forerunner, later known by his name, with the support of the emperor Alexios III of Trebizond.
He reposed in Trebizond around 1388 while seeking help for his monastery.
