Monk-Martyr Procopius of Varna and Iviron, beheaded in Smyrna in 1810.
Saint Procopius was born in Varna in Bulgaria and became a monk of the Iviron monastery on Mount Athos. Tradition relates that he fell into apostasy in Smyrna, but quickly repented and returned to confess Christ before the judge, and was beheaded there in 1810.

On the New Calendar, Procopius of Smyrna, Monk-Martyr is commemorated on June 25. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 8 of the civil calendar.
