Eustathios of Ancyra

Holy Martyr Eustathios, who suffered in Ancyra.

St. Eustathios was a soldier who confessed Christ in Ancyra of Galatia during the persecutions. Tradition relates that he was tortured and thrown into the river, but was preserved and later gave up his soul in peace.

He is commemorated as a martyr of Ancyra.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Eustathios of Ancyra is commemorated on July 28. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 10 of the civil calendar.
