Evodos and Onesiphoros the Apostles

Holy Apostles Evodos and Onesiphoros of the Seventy.

St. Evodos was the first bishop of Antioch after the Apostle Peter, and is remembered by his successor St. Ignatius the God-bearer; tradition holds that he was martyred under Nero. St. Onesiphoros is praised by the Apostle Paul, who writes that he often refreshed him and was not ashamed of his chains, seeking him out diligently in Rome.

Both are numbered among the Seventy Apostles and commemorated together on September 7.
