Luke of Batheos Ryakos

Venerable Luke, abbot of the monastery of the Deep Stream in Bithynia.

St. Luke was born in Lycaonia and became the third abbot of the monastery of the Savior called Batheos Ryakos, the Deep Stream, near Triglia in Bithynia, a house famed for the strictness of its rule. He guided the brethren in humility and reposed in peace in the tenth century.

He is commemorated on September 7.
