Hermione the Daughter of Philip

Holy Martyr Hermione, daughter of the Apostle Philip the Deacon, prophetess and healer.

St. Hermione was one of the four daughters of the Apostle Philip the Deacon, who are named in the Acts of the Apostles as virgins who prophesied. Tradition relates that she settled in Ephesus, practiced the art of healing, and cared freely for the sick and the poor.

She confessed Christ under the emperors Trajan and Hadrian and endured torments, reposing in peace at Ephesus. She is commemorated on September 4.
