Laodikios the Jailer

Holy Martyr Laodikios, the jailer converted by Saint Glykeria.

Laodikios was the guard of the prison where the virgin martyr Glykeria was held at Heraclea in Thrace. Witnessing her endurance and the wonders that accompanied her sufferings, he confessed Christ himself.

He was beheaded and is honored with her on May 13.

On the New Calendar, Laodikios the Jailer is commemorated on May 13. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 26 of the civil calendar.
