Saint Leontios, Patriarch of Jerusalem, former abbot of Patmos.
Leontios was born in Stroumitsa in Macedonia and became a monk of the Monastery of Saint John on Patmos, later serving as its abbot. In the twelfth century he was chosen Patriarch of Jerusalem and journeyed to the Holy Land, where the Crusaders prevented him from taking possession of his see.
He returned to Constantinople, where he reposed in 1185, renowned for wonders and for his gift of clairvoyance.

On the New Calendar, Leontios of Jerusalem is commemorated on May 14. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 27 of the civil calendar.
