Saint Miltiades, Pope of Rome in the days of the emperor Constantine.
Miltiades was Bishop of Rome in the early fourth century, in the years when the persecutions ended and the emperor Constantine granted freedom to the Church. He presided over a synod at Rome that examined the Donatist dispute in Africa.
He reposed in peace and is remembered as one of the last popes of the age of the martyrs.
