Holy Martyr Modestus.

The Holy Martyr Modestos suffered for Christ in the early centuries of the Church. Of his life the synaxaria preserve little beyond his faithful confession, that he refused to deny the Lord and sealed his witness with his blood.

The Church keeps his memory among the countless martyrs whose names are written in heaven, honoring in him the victory of faith over the fear of death. He is commemorated on May 12.
