Holy Martyr Pancratius, a boy of fourteen beheaded at Rome.
Pancratius was born in Phrygia and brought to Rome as an orphan by his uncle, where both were baptized. During the persecution of Diocletian the boy, only about fourteen years old, refused to sacrifice to the gods and was beheaded on the Via Aurelia around the year 304.
A basilica was raised over his tomb in Rome.
