New Martyr Nicholas of Psari in Corinthia, who suffered in Constantinople.
St. Nicholas was born in the village of Psari in Corinthia and, orphaned young, went to Selymbria where he married, and later worked as a grocer in Constantinople. Falsely accused of having accepted Islam, he was imprisoned and tortured.
He refused to deny Christ and was beheaded in Constantinople in 1554.

On the New Calendar, Nicholas of Psari is commemorated on February 14. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 27 of the civil calendar.
