Holy Apostle Zacchaeus, the tax collector of Jericho who received the Lord in his house.
Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector of Jericho who, being short of stature, climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus and was called down to receive Him in his house, where he promised to restore fourfold all he had taken unjustly.
Tradition relates that he later followed the Apostle Peter and became bishop of Caesarea in Palestine, where he reposed in peace.

On the New Calendar, Zacchaeus the Apostle is commemorated on April 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 3 of the civil calendar.
