  Moses the Ethiopian

  Venerable, Μωυσής ο Αιθίοπας

  St. Moses the Ethiopian was in his youth a slave and then the leader of a band of robbers in Egypt, feared for his strength and violence. Coming to himself, he repented and entered the monastic life in the desert of Sketis, where through long struggle with his former passions he attained deep humility and gentleness, and was found worthy of the priesthood.

  The synaxaria record that Saints Diomedes and Lawrence confessed Christ and were put to death for their faith.

• Hezekiah the King

  Saint, Εζεκίας ο Βασιλεύς

  Hezekiah was king of Judah in the days of the Prophet Isaiah. He cleansed the Temple, destroyed the idols and trusted in God when Jerusalem was besieged by the Assyrians; the Scriptures relate that his prayer was heard and fifteen years were added to his life.

• Anna the Prophetess

  Holy Woman, Άννα η Προφήτις

  Saint Anna was an aged widow of the tribe of Asher who served God with fasting and prayer in the Temple. The Gospel of Luke relates that she was present when the infant Christ was brought there and spoke of Him to all who awaited the redemption of Jerusalem.

  Saint, Τριάκοντα Τρεις Μάρτυρες Ηρακλείας

  The synaxaria record that thirty-three Christians of Heraclea confessed Christ and were burned for their faith.
