Domnika of Constantinople

Venerable Domnika, abbess in Constantinople.

St. Domnika came from Carthage to Constantinople in the late fourth century, where she was baptized by the Patriarch Nektarios. She founded a convent in the city and became famous for her ascetic life and gift of prophecy.

She reposed in peace at a great age and is commemorated on January 8.
