St. Agathon was one of the desert fathers of Egypt whose sayings are preserved in the Apophthegmata. He was known for his discernment, his silence and his love for his neighbor, and tradition relates that he once said he wished he could give a leper his own body in exchange.
He reposed in peace, and the Greek synaxarion keeps his memory on March 10.
