Melitine the Martyr

Holy Martyr Melitine of Marcianopolis in Thrace.

Melitine was a Christian of Marcianopolis in Thrace in the reign of Antoninus. Brought to the temple, she overthrew the idols by her prayer and converted many, including the wife of the governor.

She was beheaded, and her body was carried by a Christian toward Lemnos, where she is honored.

On the New Calendar, Melitine the Martyr is commemorated on October 29. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 11 of the civil calendar.
