Neaniskos the Martyr

Holy Martyr Neaniskos the Most Wise of Alexandria, who suffered under Diocletian.

Saint Neaniskos was a young Christian of Alexandria renowned for wisdom, who confessed Christ before the governor during the persecution of Diocletian. Tradition relates that he was tortured and beheaded, having proclaimed the faith with great eloquence.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Neaniskos the Martyr is commemorated on June 10. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 23 of the civil calendar.
