Hieromartyr Timothy, Bishop of Prusa.

The Holy Hieromartyr Timothy was Bishop of Prusa in Bithynia in the fourth century, a shepherd of holy life to whom tradition ascribes the grace of wonderworking. In the days of Julian the Apostate, when the emperor sought to restore the worship of idols, Timothy would not cease preaching Christ, and for his boldness he was imprisoned and put to death.

The Church honors him among the hieromartyrs who withstood the last pagan reaction of the empire, faithful shepherds who chose death over silence. He is commemorated on June 10.
