Nektarios, Arsakios and Sisinios of Constantinople

Saints Nektarios, Arsakios and Sisinios, Patriarchs of Constantinople.

Nektarios, a senator of Tarsus, was chosen Patriarch while still a catechumen and presided at the Second Ecumenical Council in 381, reposing in 397. Arsakios, the brother of Nektarios, briefly held the throne after the exile of Saint John Chrysostom.

Sisinios, Patriarch from 426 to 427, was renowned for his almsgiving and purity of life. The Church commemorates the three hierarchs together.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Nektarios, Arsakios and Sisinios of Constantinople is commemorated on October 11. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on October 24 of the civil calendar.
