Nestor of Magydos

Hieromartyr Nestor, Bishop of Magydos in Pamphylia.

St. Nestor was Bishop of Magydos in Pamphylia during the persecution of Decius. Arrested while at prayer, he was brought to Perge and refused to sacrifice to the idols.

He was tortured and crucified in the mid-third century, receiving the crown of martyrdom.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Nestor of Magydos is commemorated on February 28. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 13 (a day earlier in leap years) of the civil calendar.
