Olympas, Herodion, Sosipater and Quartus the Apostles

Holy Apostles of the Seventy Olympas, Herodion, Sosipater, Quartus and Tertius, named in Romans 16.

The Apostles Olympas, Herodion, Sosipater, Quartus and Tertius are among the Seventy and are greeted by Saint Paul in his Epistle to the Romans. Tradition relates that Herodion became bishop of Neopatras, Sosipater of Iconium, Quartus of Beirut and Tertius of Iconium after Sosipater.

Olympas and Herodion are said to have been beheaded in Rome on the day of the Apostle Peter's martyrdom.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Olympas, Herodion, Sosipater and Quartus the Apostles is commemorated on November 10. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 23 of the civil calendar.
