Pasicrates and Valentio

Holy Martyrs Pasicrates and Valentio, soldiers beheaded at Dorostolum in Moesia.

Pasicrates and Valentio were soldiers of the garrison at Dorostolum on the Danube who refused to offer incense to the idols. Tradition relates that Pasicrates, ordered to sacrifice, cast the incense away and declared his faith.

They were beheaded at the end of the third century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Pasicrates and Valentio is commemorated on April 24. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 7 of the civil calendar.
